Media that Has Made Me Cry

So, I was watching the Simpsons episode "Mother Simpson" and I started to tear up at the end the music always gets to me and makes me cry. As such it got me to thinking about other things that have made me cry that were media based. Now, I know what some people may think but I am a modern man and I feel that its ok to cry without slighting my manliness at all. That being said here are some things that I usually cry at: (I have included clips... let the sobfest begin)
The opening of "Finding Nemo"



Barber-Adagio for Strings


Now it might be because of the association with September 11th that this song makes me cry but I don't think so because I believe I remember crying due to the Melancholy beauty of this song well before it became associated with that tragedy.

The short film "My Name is Lisa"


I know the reason this makes me cry is because of my grandmother (who just passed away last week) because over the ten years that she had Alzheimer's it really hurt to see her transform from the smart witty interesting old lady I had gotten to know over the course of my life to the nearly catatonic unresponsive sack of organs she was when she passed away.

The end of "Field of Dreams" Actually I defy any respectable American male to NOT cry when viewing this:
"Hey Dad, do you wanna have a catch?", gets me every time.

(This one I'm slightly embarrassed about) The End of "Return of the King"

I think this one is due to all the build up through the three movies and seeing Frodo go and all....

I only saw this on t.v. once and even though Hallmark ads always manage to tug on my heartstrings this one did the most of all.

Final Fantasy VII Theme and Aeris Death
This is still the only time I have really cried while playing a video game. I had been playing the game for over 20 some hours at this point collectively and it really struck a chord to see Cloud whom I had been through so much with at this point have his g/f get killed. As for the theme it just brings back memories of my first truly AWESOME gaming experience and brings a tear to my eye.



So I know there are more moments, but those are the ones that come most vividly to memory recently.... I may do an addendum post to this some time in the future (I hope you weren't to bogged down with vids!)
Additional: I realized whilst writing this that a lot of the clips involved fathers, so I made sure to call my Dad and tell him that I love him and that I think he's done a fantastic job raising me right. I think this also has to do with my strong desire to be a dad someday....
