I think I found and awesomely superior,(and the ultimate in nerdiness) way to search using Google. It is the Google Shell. Basically what that means is that Google has been redone to mimic the look of a Unix shell, which means that firstly all the searching is only in text and secondly it comes off as elegantly minimalist and looks like this:
Thats it nothing more on the page and you enter commands like you would in a unix shell. To search the web just enter your query, but to search images just type images (query), or to search maps, just type place (query) etc...its incredibly simple and if you get lost just type h and all the commmands come up for the user, couldn't be easier. I know its a highly nerdy way of searching the internet and isn't everyones cup of tea but frankly I enjoy the simplicity it exudes.
